Blog Post 11

The general argument made by director John Singleton in his work "Marion Jones: Press Pause" is that due to Marion Jones's race, she was treated unfairly in prison for her performance enhancing drug use. He uses many quotes from former coaches, fans, and Marion herself to exemplify how badly her life was affected from one simple little mistake. In this documentary, Singleton is suggesting that Marion's race had a large impact on how badly her prison experience was. She did make a mistake, so prison time was her punishment, but it became Marion's worst nightmare when she got into solitary confinement for 50 days for simply defending herself from one of her former cell mates. Many think this happened to Marion specifically because she is black. They think this because she did nothing wrong and people stereotypically think skin color plays a large role in acting out and hurting others. In conclusion, Singleton's belief is that Marion was not deserving of the punishments she received.
In my view, Singleton is right because Marion was pressured into something she was not completely comfortable with and was only defending herself in prison. More specifically, I believe that Marion became very famous incredibly fast that she was not prepared for all the pressure. People expected more from Marion as she continued running and she did not want to let her fans down. She had little kids that looked up to her greatly. She did not deserve to go to prison because she made a mistake and was nervous when people questioned her about her performance enhancing drug use. She was under extreme pressure and could not handle it. Also, she did not deserve the 50 days of solitary confinement because all she did was defend herself from getting injured. Racial issues played a large role in the deciding of the solitary confinement for Marion. I maintain that Marion Jones is an amazing and charismatic person who deserved none of the bad treatment she received, Therefore, I conclude that Marion deserved much better.

Final

The Norton girls tennis team defeated the Dedham girls tennis team at Nobles indoor courts on June 1, 2015 because of great motivation and skill. It was both of their last matches and it was definitely a great way to end the season. Many were worried the match would be cancelled, but luckily Nobles high school had open courts available. Both teams put in great effort and were evenly matched, Norton just ended up having a better day.
       The final scores were Michelle Faddie (D) Emma Daly 6-3, 6-3; Meg Moriarty (N) Melissa Martinez 6-2, 6-2; Lakynne Sargent (N) Natalie Raposa 6-3, 6-3; Brooke Murphy-Tara Kiley (N) Darcy Rheaume-Bridget Coakley 6-1, 4-6, 7-5; Janede Rosario-Riisa Kuzara (D) Danielle Sullivan-Catie Moniz 6-4, 6-1. Altogether, the final match altogether was Norton 3-2.
Norton Girls Tennis Team
Norton previously lost 3-2 against Dedham earlier in the season, so the pressure was on for Dedham to win again. Norton viewed this match as an opportunity to redeem themselves and see how much they have improved from their previous match. Coach Everette Clark from Norton was ecstatic that they won. "I am so proud of how far my girls have come. They have improved tremendously and it definitley shows it in their scores" he explains. Norton is a team made up of 1 junior, 1 sophmore, and the rest freshman in which most of them have never played before this year. It is impressive that they won their match because they are playing in a very tough league against much older girls and had to come up with intricate plans for defeating them. The whole Norotn team was vociferous when they won.
The match between Kiley-Murphy and Rheaume-Coakley was a real nail biter. Norton won the first set while Dedham won the second, so they had to advance to a third set. The third set continued to go back and forth with many deuces. Finally after a long match, Tara slammed the ball after Darcy set her up at net. Dedham lost by not being outplayed but making simple mistakes. Every point mattered during this match because both of the doubles teams were very evenly matched. They both learned this the difficult way because they ended up playing for approximately 2 hours. Dedham was filled with indignation after they lost. In the end, it was all worth it for the Norton team because they helped win the entire match for Norton.
Norton had to change their lineup for this match due to an injury of Murphy. She previously played with Sullivan for second doubles, but Moniz replaced her. Although, the doubles lineup is changing all the time with everyone improving rapidly. Moniz played well and did her job as replacement for Murphy.
Both teams used very important skills. Dedham had very strong serves that became full strength once they made it to second set. It was hard for the Norton girls to subjugate them. "Some of their serves were amazing, they were very difficult to hit," says freshman second doubles player Catie Moniz. Norton did a lot of poaching at the net and were agile with their movements. "I can't stress enough how much the girls need to poach when they can. I always tell them that and they have improved greatly with it. Even if they mess it up, if they try that is all I care about," says coach Clark. Norton also successfully hit a few dead balls which involves a motion similar to slicing an apple. Dedham struggled with setting up the person at net during doubles because some of their hits were erratic. Norton easily took advantage of this and slammed many balls. Norton struggled a little with serves in the beginning, but once they got going, they improved.
Both teams ended their season with a great match. Next season is predicted that Norton will do much better especially because this is most of the girls' first time playing tennis. It is also predicted that Dedham will do better because they are improving dramatically after every match. Everyone had a great season this year and learned many new skills. Both teams succeeded their main goal of becoming better athletes.

Discussion Questions:
Do you think Norton will do better next year? If so, how much better?
Do you think having Steph Murphy injured affected the team?
If you were the coach, how would you feel about Norton's season this year?

Will Grimsley's shocking article "It Was Lightning and Thunder" about Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston's boxing match was written for a boxing fan base because it was the fiftieth anniversary of this memorable fight. Ali knocked out Liston in approximately one minute causing fans to be shocked and angry because it was not a fight worth $100 to watch. In Grimsley's writing, he explains the fight without taking one side and acting like their cheerleader. He also knows the specific writing style for boxing. He uses boxing terms correctly and words that are widely known like overhand right, belted the challenger, and neutral corner. Additionally, Grimsley wrote about the individual opponents not just that match altogether. He explained both opponents' plays and how the match went. Grimsley used good statistics of Liston and wrote about how he is 215 1/4 pounds. He also uses important quotes from fans about how disappointed they were that they paid $100 for a 1 minute match. A quote was also used from Liston complaining that he would have gotten up if he heard the count. His quotes are useful and help explain the frustration of the match from both fans and Liston. He also proved in his writing that he knew important information on the opponents and the match and did his research. Grimsley wrote a very interesting and informative sports article.

In Sun Chronicle's informative article "Sox Have No Answers for Rangers, Gonzalez", they explain how Chi Chi Gonzalez had an amazing game as a pitcher and contributed greatly to their win against the Red Sox. They have a baseball fan base in mind because they explained what happened on Sunday nights game. Gonzalez did great especially for a rookie and was hitless for 5 innings. In the Sun Chronicle's writing, they definitely know the writing style for baseball. The scores were written with a hyphen and with the winning score first. They used certain baseball terms like rookie, hitless, and first-inning jitters. Also, the article wasn't just based off the game but on a certain player; Gonzalez. They also addressed Gonzalez as a rookie pitcher not just Chi Chi Gonzalez. An important quote was used from Gonzalez showing that he really enjoyed playing and being respected by David Ortiz. A quote was also used from the manager Jeff Banister who made Gonzalez's dream come true even more amazing.  The Sun Chronicle does a good job in explaining the great night Gonzalez experienced on Sunday.

Blog Post #9

Deflategate has been going on for a couple months now. It is an issue where supposedly the Patriots deflated their footballs before their game against the Colts. Deflated footballs help the teams grip leading to fewer fumbles. Because of the accusation, the Patriots were blamed of cheating their way to victory with a final score of 45-7. After this issue, the Patriots were also accused of deflating their footballs for previous games too. Now, Tom Brady is being accused of setting up the deflation before the game with Jim McNally, sports equipment manager, deflating the balls. He was found guilty of setting this up and has a 4-game suspension and the Patriots have to pay a 1 million dollar fine. Some people agree Brady is guilty while others think he is innocent. The topic deflategate has brought up a lot of controversy throughout America.
Personally, I think Brady is not guilty. There is some evidence against him, but not all of it is very specific. For example, some people are suspicious just because he did not want to turn in his phone for someone to search through. His personal information is on there and it is understandable that he does no want random people searching through everything. If the Patriots had not won the Super Bowl, this issue would not have been still ongoing. They would not have searched so closely for all of this evidence. Everything has been so blown out of proportion and should not be taken this far. Tom Brady is not guilty and should be let off of the accusation.
The punishment is not justifiable for Tom Brady's breaking of the rules. There is not enough solid evidence against him. The only bit of evidence is that he was talking with McNally before and after the game. There is no proof McNally deflated the balls for Tom. Brady's punishment of a 4-game suspension is taking things way too far. Because of the lack of evidence, the suspension should be held off. Also, the 1 million dollar fine is too much because the Patriots supposedly did not know about the deflation of the balls. They should not be punished especially if there is no solid evidence against them.
There could be a much better solution to this problem. Instead of the 4-game suspension, the case should be looked at more thoroughly. If Brady is still found guilty, the suspension should be shorter like 1 or 2 games. With a 4-game suspension, Brady would be missing a total of 1/4 of the season. He is a vital player to the team and without him, they would not do as well. Also, the fine of 1 million dollars is a little too high. Without all of the evidence, the fine should be lowered to about 500,000 which is half. Everything is being blown out  proportion and a new solution to deflategate should be made.

Blog Post #8

    a) The general argument made by director Josh Greenbaum in his work "The Short Game", is that it is okay for kids of ages 7-9 to compete in a very intense level of golf as long as their parents are supportive. He uses examples of some of the kids lives. One example is that he follows Allan's life who is number 1 in the world at age 7. He gets interviewed and asked about his life. Allan answers the questions almost as any normal 7 year old boy would. Josh Greenbaum is trying to display that even though it may seem like the kids are under too much pressure at such a young age, they are still normal kids just doing something they love. In conclusion, Greenbaum's belief is that the world tournament is fine for young kids to prepare for as long as they have supportive and non pressuring parents.
      b) In my view, Greenbaum is right because if the kids are treated correctly, they should be fine. More specifically I believe that kids should be able to do what they love and if they are very good, they should have a chance to use their skills in competitions. For example, Sky is a 7 year old golfer who takes golf very seriously and studies it physically and mentally. Becoming so into an activity can be a good thing because if you become good at it, the activity could become your job when your're older. Becoming involved in an activity can also help with overall  fitness. Although others might object that kids are too young for this competition, I maintain that this skill can be helpful later on in life or just allow them to do something they love. Therefore I conclude that kids should compete in the World Golf Tournament as long as their parents are supportive and they really love the game.
     c) In Josh Greenbaum's documentary "The Short Game" (2013) he shows that there is nothing wrong with very young kids competing at a very high level intensity golf tournament as long as the parents are fairly supportive. The author first displays this with interviews of the kids. It shows how happy they are like any normal kid. The author then shows this with showing clips of the parents being supportive. They keep themselves together even if their kid makes a frustrating play. To conclude she shows clips of the kids being themselves and having fun. They make many new friends and have a blast. His purpose is to show that the kids are living normal lives in order to make people believe it is okay to let young kids compete in this type of competition. He seems to have a large variety in is intended audience because there are many different examples used to display his points.

Blog Post # 7 Summary/Analysis

The general argument made by director Trevor Martin in his work "Schooled- The Price of College Sports", is that the NCAA is getting away with a fraud of using their student athletes for billions of dollars and not giving the athletes even one cent. He says "not because they are amateurs, it’s because you don’t want to pay them." In this film, Martin is suggesting that the NCAA is using the term amateur as an excuse for not paying the student athletes any money for playing. The athletes put forth a lot of time and effort to stay student athletes and aren't getting any credit. In conclusion, Martin's belief is that the student athletes should receive money for their actions.

In my view, Martin is right because the students dedicate most of their lives to playing for a college team. More specifically, I believe that the student athletes should get money, a real education, and more free time to learn or rest. For example, the students don't get anything for their efforts, so I believe they should get what they deserve for bringing in all the money from their fans. The athletes should get paid a certain percentage of the money that is made because it is completely fair. Although others might object that the athletes should get paid, I maintain that the athletes definitely deserve some money. Therefore, I conclude that because of all the money and fame the players bring to the NCAA, they should receive some of the profit.

Blog Post #7 Rhetorical Precis

In Trevor Martin's documentary "Schooled-The Price of College Sports" he suggests that the NCAA is not allowing college athletes to get the right education and care they need because they are only concerned with how well they play on the field/court. The director exposes the NCAA by first showing clips of historical sports which displays how important sports are to American history. He then exploits the NCAA by using examples of how the student athletes are being cheated. To conclude he shows videos of students and others affected by this issue. They tell their real life stories and struggles of being student athletes. His purpose is to expose the NCAA issue in order to help the athletes and future athletes with their lives. He seems to have an audience of people who are not informed about the NCAA yet and current student athletes in mind because he wants people to help and for the athletes to be prepared. Personally, I agree with the documentary because the players are being treated unfairly and if they don't make it to the pros, which they most likely wont, they will not have a proper education to succeed without sports in life. I believe the athletes should be given a proper education so they can succeed later in life.

Blog Post #7 Bio

  • My name is Danielle Sullivan.
  • When I was about 5 years old, I played soccer and played until I was 14. I also started playing softball when I was 7 years old and stopped just last year at age 14. I played both sports competitively and also recreational league.
  • Currently, I play volleyball for the high school and a club team called Metrowest. High school volleyball was only in the fall, but it was my first year and it ended up being my favorite sport. I made the freshman team and played outside hitter. Our record was 11-4 which was a great season! Metrowest was a tough team to make but I am on a team and play as a middle and outside hitter. We have only played in 1 tournament so far and we went 3-6 which was not that great but we all had fun! Also, I am playing tennis at the moment which is a totally new sport for me. We have only had a few practices but so far it is pretty fun!
  • My favorite athlete is Rita Crockett because she is an all around amazing volleyball player and plays every position.
  • My favorite sports quote is "The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow"

Blog Post #6 JJ Nelson

The general argument made by the author Rovell in his work, "JJ Nelson: Adidas never offered deal", is that Nelson was cheated of a $100,000 profit from Adidas because of specific reasons. He writes, "When Nelson went to the player suite where he had the choice to run in the latest models form Nike, Under Armor and Adidas, he said he chose Adidas not only because the shoes were comfortable but because he was aware of the $100,000 prize." In this passage, Rovell is suggesting that Nelson was completely aware of the deal with Adidas. He specifically wore Adidas when he had the choice of two other great brands of cleats. According to Rovell, Nelson had enough of a commitment to the deal of receiving the $100,000 prize especially because he was the number one runner.  In conclusion, Rovell's belief is that JJ Nelson should have received the prize money because he completed every aspect of the deal.
In my view, Rovell is wrong because the deal was made clear to all players to receive the prize. More specifically, I believe that Nelson  did not complete his entire part of the deal, so it was right for him to not get the large profit. Rovell writes, "Adidas said it would pay the top three fastest players who ran the 40-yard dash in its shoes and signed a contract to endorse the brand before they ran $100,000." The statement is clear and specifically says that part of the deal is the players have to sign with Adidas before they run. Nelson failed to sign the contract and in return is not $100,000 richer. He could have easily inherited the money if only he had signed with Adidas. Although Rovell might object that Nelson never had the time to sign the contract so he should get the money, I maintain that even if he never got around to it, he still knew about the deal. Nelson Therefore, I conclude that JJ Nelson was not cheated of $100,000 and was given a completely fair chance to receive the money as all the other runners.

Blog-Post #5 Sports Newswriting

Last Thursday, in the gym at Norton High, the boys varsity basketball team came together to defeat the Rockland Bulldogs, sending them home with a nearly 20 point deficit. With this win, the Norton varsity boys will be advancing in the tournament to play the Archies.
The Norton varsity team shocked many fans as they shot a total of 10 three pointers. Nobody could believe what they had just watched. The whole crowd went wild! On the other hand, the Rockland fans were not as rowdy at that point. For them, it was a sad thing to watch the opposing team shoot so many threes like it was their job. Norton lived up to their high expectations through this game.

Norton is not a team that disappoints. They were clearly the dominating team during this game. Rockland definitely did not play their best game last Thursday. Did they feel pressured because they were not the home team? The Norton crowd was very rowdy and Rockland could have felt more pressure because of this. In the end, it all depends on who is the better team, and Norton clearly was better in Thursdays game. Norton fought hard and the final score ended as 65-64. Congratulations to the Norton boy's varsity basketball team in advancing even farther into the tournament!

Hoop Dreams

In the film "Hoop Dreams", you are following Arthur Agee and William Gates in their six most important and difficult years of their lives. They both were offered scholarships to St. Joseph's High School after they were spotted playing basketball on a playground. Both of their families were tight on money, so they wouldn't have been able to go to a private school without those scholarships. Although, once they started attending the school, they both encountered some obstacles. William made the varsity team while Arthur made the freshman team. William had trouble with keeping his grades up because during past years, he did not receive that great of education. He was very far behind the other students. Also, Arthur was not as important to St. Joseph as William was so he did not get a full scholarship but he got a partial scholarship. His mom could not manage to pay the amount to keep Arthur in school, so he was kicked out and attended a nearby public school called Marshall. On top of that issue, Arthur's dad became a drug addict so he was no longer a part of Arthur's life. It is a sad thing to see drugs take over someone you love's life. William encountered yet another issue during high school. He experienced a knee injury which he did not give enough time to heal. He continuously injured himself by playing before he was fully healed. After the season, William continued to struggle terribly with his grades. He also had a son that he now was responsible for. It was hard for him to balance all of his priorities therefore, his grades dropped. Even though they both faced many difficult times, they both ended up graduating high school and receiving college scholarships.
Throughout the film "Hoop Dreams", the theme is that no matter what gets in your way or how difficult something is, there's always a way to achieve your goal if you work hard enough. Arthur and William both face difficult times in their lives, but they both overcome them even though it seemed impossible. Arthur started out only playing on the freshman team, had financial issues, and his dad was a drug addict who was put into jail. He continued to put all of his effort into basketball even though his confidence decreased a little because of the team he was placed on. He also worked hard enough to receive a scholarship even without a lot of money. Additionally, William faced many struggles too including school issues, fathering a child, and a knee injury. With school, basketball, and a child all part of William's schedule, it was difficult for him to stay on top of everything. Although, he did find a way to accomplish each of his priorities because of his hard work. Also, William suffered from a knee injury, but once he rested for the time he had too and worked hard enough to get back in shape, he was able to go back to his basketball career. Anything is possible with hard work. Even if there are obstacles and it seems impossible, with a lot of determination, anything can be done.

How Sports Impact Society

Angel Navedo in the article How Sports Transcends Culture explains how professional sports have impacted our culture in many different ways. To begin with, because of the different races, there are many different players who speak a variety of languages. This could be an opportunity for players to learn parts of new languages. Being bilingual is a very useful trait to have especially because there are many different races of people spreading out across the world lately. Subsequently, issues in sports that are not necessarily relevant to playing the sport have spread out to society. An example of this is Jackie Robinson and how he managed to be an amazing player even though he was a different race as everyone else. This allowed people to look past the races and treat everybody equal. Furthermore, another way sports have impacted society is that they have brought together many different races. Whether they are fans, family, or the players themselves, many people have learned to look past each others differences and come together as a whole doing or watching something they enjoy. In conclusion, sports have impacted society vastly in many different ways.
Sports do still continue to influence our culture today. Actually, they might even influence our culture more greatly today then they have in the past. As sports become a more important part of peoples lives, more people start to watch or play them and become more familiar with them. People start to dig deeper than just the actual physical activity of the sport. They learn that no matter what race you are, you are still able to succeed as well as everybody else. Because of sports, people in society realize that because race doesn't matter in sports, it doesn't matter at all for anything. Everyone is equal no matter what race.
There are many effects that sports have on our culture, whether they be good or bad. You might be wondering, how can sports have a negative impact on society? Sports can sometimes be taken a bit too seriously. People get very intense while playing sports. When they are in game-mode, sometimes they cant control their anger and they might hurt other players on the opposing team either mentally or physically which is never a good thing. Also, fans of sports can sometimes get very into the game too, so they could do the same thing to a fan of the opposing team. Another negative impact is how sometimes, people can be excluded by others. Because of sports becoming so popular lately, the equipment prices have been rising dramatically. Some people might not be able to afford fancy equipment and play with others. Sports have turned into an expensive hobby and hopefully the prices for equipment and enrollment in sports will be decreased sometime. Just because there are a few negative impacts from sports doesn't mean there are no positive impacts. Sports bring people together. They bring together teammates and even fans. Teammates become close friends as they grow as a team together. Friendships are made and it is a great thing to have some friends by your side. Families and friends can be brought together by meeting up every once in a while and having a gathering to watch a sport together with some food. Family and friends are some of the most important people to have in your life and it would be terrible to drift apart from them. Sports are a little reason just to get together more often and talk. Altogether, sports have many different impacts on our culture.

Sports also have many different impacts on my life. I have been playing sports since I was about five years old. I have played soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball. Sports keep me moving and in shape. It is good to be physical because it is good for your health. Because of sports, I have gotten many amazing friendships that have lasted for a long time. It's good to have friends because they can help you in times of need. Sports have also helped me to get closer to my dad. My dad is a big sports fan, so he becomes very interested by sports. We both share a special bond when we talk about a sport that I play. I love when he watches my games and talks to me about how i did after. Sports have had a huge impact on my life, and I'm thankful that my parents are supportive of my sports decisions.

Juan Agudelo returns to the Revolution and Super Bowl Reaction

The main point made by the Sun Chronicle in  the article Agudelo, Revs a soccer match is that Juan Agudelo, 22-year-old striker, has decided to return to play with the New England Revolution soccer team. Agudelo states that he believes he could help lead to winning the MLS cup. Agudelo puts all his effort towards his soccer career, and it is definitely noticeable. During a tour of duty with New England, he averaged a striking rate of 0.44 per match. The Revolution is the place Agudelo belongs because he exceeds higher percentages with the Revolution than the New York Red Bulls and Chivas USA. Agudelo is excited to come back to the Revolution. Agudelo states, "'It was one of my best times, on and off the field, when I was with the Revs.'" Because of his success with the Revolution during earlier years, he is more than happy to be joining them again. Although, Agudelo is not the only one pleased about this. Revolution coach Jay Heaps feels Agudelo will be a great fit for the Revs. Heaps states, "'He can play back to goal and he's fast enough to get behind defenses, so he can play the 'number nine' very well. He can also play on the wing if we need him."' Agudelo can play various positions if necessary for his team. In conclusion, the Sun Chronicle believes that Agudelo will be the perfect fit for the New England Revolution.

I agree with the Sun Chronicle because I think Agudelo is an all around amazing soccer player. Agudelo has some experience with the Revs because he used to be a part of it. "Agudelo has played alongside current Revolution members, midfielder Jermaine Jones and striker Teal Bunbury as members of the U.S. National Team, but not with the Revolution.", Sun Chronical. Because of Agudelo's experience with others on the team, it might make Agudelo feel more comfortable on the field with others he's played with before. Because of Agudelo's off-season, are you wondering if he is still as amazing as he used to be? Agudelo states "'I haven't been just sitting on my couch, I feel really fit.'...'I cant stay away from football. I've been all over the place training and keeping myself fit with individual people."' Agudelo seems more than ready to re-join the Revolution. In conclusion, I believe that Agudelo is going to add a great factor to the Revolution and is ready for anything that may come ahead.

Footage of Agudelo during previous years on Revs

I had mixed reactions to the Super Bowl. During the beginning of the game, the Patriots were not playing to the best of their ability. I was getting a little worried, but I hoped they would get their act together. As the game went on and the Pats were still not doing as great as they should have been, I started to get frustrated with them. I wanted them to win, but they were not trying their best. Once they started to get into the game and get more focused, I started to get relieved. they were catching up again and playing their best. Although, once  Julian Edelman made the catch that won the game for the Patriots, I was shocked and filled with joy! It was such an amazing way to win the game especially after how poorly the Pats started out. The game was very exciting and nerve racking. The Patriots definitely deserved to win the Super Bowl. Overall, I was very happy with the Patriots and proud to be a New Englander.

Super Bowl Thoughts

I personally do not enjoy watching football that much, but I do like watching the Super Bowl. Football is one of the few sports that is difficult to understand, but once you understand the basic rules, the games become very intense to watch. I especially like watching the Super Bowl if the Patriots are a part of it. With everything going on with the deflate gate, I think it makes the big game much more interesting. The halftime is part of the reason why I watch the Super Bowl, so I hope it is great this Sunday! I have always wanted to go to the Super Bowl, but the tickets are extremely expensive. I love to get together with family or friends to watch the game because it is a game you can't miss! I believe that the Patriots are going to take home this years victory for the fourth time. The Super Bowl cannot come soon enough!

Aaron Herndandez Trial

The general argument made by author David Linton in the article "Prosecutors: Hernandez 'orchestrated' murder, cover up; defense says ex-NFL star unfairly accused" is that Aaron Hernandez either is guilty of killing Odin Lloyd, or was falsely accused because of his fame. There is a lot of solid evidence that Aaron is the killer of Lloyd, but there could be a possibility that everything is made up. "But Boston defense lawyer Michael Fee fired back. He said police and prosecutors targeted Hernandez because of his celebrity status as a multi-million dollar football player, despite evidence that should have led investigators 'in another direction.'" In this passage, Linton is suggesting that the case could end up in Hernandez's favor. Aaron does have an equal chance of being claimed innocent as he does being claimed guilty. In conclusion, Linton's belief is that Aaron Hernandez has a good chance of being innocent with the help of his lawyer Michael Fee.

Aaron Hernandez Legal Case Grows Larger    In my view, Linton is wrong because the prosecutor has gathered up much more organized and solid evidence that Hernandez is guilty. More specifically, I believe that Hernandez and his lawyer do not have that great of evidence to support their side of the case. I think that the prosecutor has much more useful evidence. For example, Linton states that the prosecutors have footage of Hernandez showing up with a .45-caliber  handgun. This gun is the same kind of weapon used to kill Lloyd on the night of  the murder. That piece of evidence is very important, and helps the prosecutors vastly with the trial. Although Linton might object that Hernandez did not kill Odin Lloyd, I maintain that based on the prosecutors evidence, they have a solid case against Hernandez. Therefore, I conclude that Aaron Hernandez killed Odin Lloyd and will not win the trial.

Definition of a sport

A sport is an activity that involves being physical in any form. People do sports to have fun and do something that's good for their health. Sports can help with your health because they keep you moving and being physical. Exercise helps release stress and makes you feel happier. Every sport is different and involves different skills to perform. Some sports are more difficult to do while others are easier and more laid back. Sometimes, sports are competitive and people play against others to try and win. People play competitive sports because of the blast of excitement they get when they claim their trophy or even just get bragging rights. Other times, sports can just be played non competitively so everyone can have fun by the end of the game. Sports can also be played just so you can have an enjoyable time with your friends or family. Different examples of sports are volleyball, basketball, dance, cheer, baseball, golf, hockey, and a lot more. However a sport is played, it is always a good activity to make time for in your life.
Many people think that dancing or even cheerleading are not sports. The people that think this are wrong. A sport is defined by a physical activity that people enjoy doing either competitively or not. Dancing and cheerleading are both very similar. They both involve a lot of practice and hard work to do. Dancing and cheer are fun for many people and they involve physical activity. People that do not do dance or cheerleading do not understand the hard work and determination it takes to be perfect at those sports. Dancing and cheer are also either played competitively or not. Competitions are taken very seriously and sometimes the prizes for winning are huge. Sports have a very large variety and it is never too late to try a new sport.
